AI Capabilities in Oracle Fusion

About this course

What's native, what's configurable, and what it actually does. A practical guide to AI in Oracle Fusion Cloud — native embedded AI, OCI AI Services, Oracle Digital Assistant, and how to configure and use AI features across Finance, SCM, and HCM. 6 hrs · 2 sessions. Overview Oracle has been embedding AI into Fusion Cloud for several years — and the pace has accelerated sharply. Finance now has AI-driven anomaly detection, smart close recommendations, and predictive cash flow. SCM has demand sensing and supply disruption prediction. HCM has skill gap analysis, attrition prediction, and intelligent job recommendations. The Digital Assistant layer lets users query Fusion data conversationally. And OCI AI Services lets organisations extend the platform with their own models. The challenge for consultants, IT managers, and finance leaders is knowing which AI capabilities are native and always-on, which require specific activation and configuration, which require an OCI AI Services subscription, and — critically — which actually work reliably enough to change how their organisation operates. Oracle's marketing materials do not make these distinctions clearly. This course does. We cover Oracle Fusion AI across three layers: embedded AI features included in the standard Fusion Cloud subscription; OCI AI Services for more powerful configurable capabilities; and the generative AI and Digital Assistant layer for conversational Fusion access. The course is deliberately honest about what works well and what is still maturing — giving participants an evidence-based view they can act on and advise clients with. Learning outcomes • Identify which AI capabilities are included in a standard Oracle Fusion Cloud subscription and verify whether they are active on an environment • Configure embedded AI features in Finance, SCM, and HCM — including AP anomaly detection, demand sensing, and HCM skills intelligence • Explain the difference between embedded AI, OCI AI Services, and Oracle Digital Assistant and advise a client on which applies to their needs • Set up Oracle Digital Assistant for an Oracle Fusion environment and demonstrate its transaction and query capabilities • Give an honest evidence-based assessment of Oracle's generative AI features — distinguishing what is generally available, what is in preview, and what is marketed but not yet production-ready • Advise on the AI configuration scope required as part of an Oracle Fusion implementation project Prerequisites • Working knowledge of at least one Oracle Fusion module — Finance, SCM, or HCM • No AI or data science background required — this is about using Oracle's AI features, not building models Modules 1. Embedded AI in Finance, SCM, and HCM — what's native and how to activate it (3 hours) A structured tour of Oracle Fusion's embedded AI capabilities included in the standard cloud subscription. Finance: AP invoice anomaly detection flagging unusual invoices before payment; smart close assistant identifying incomplete close tasks; predictive cash flow forecasting liquidity from open AR and AP; expense audit AI detecting policy violations. SCM: demand sensing adjusting short-term forecasts using ML on transactional signals; supply disruption alerts; inventory optimisation recommendations. HCM: skills intelligence identifying workforce skill gaps; attrition risk predictions at team level; job profile recommendations in talent management. For each capability: how to verify if it is active, what configuration is required to enable it, and how to evaluate whether the AI output is reliable enough to act on. Topics: AP anomaly detection; Smart close assistant; Predictive cash flow; Demand sensing in SCM; HCM skills intelligence and attrition prediction; Enabling and verifying embedded AI features 2. OCI AI Services, Oracle Digital Assistant, and generative AI in Fusion (3 hours) OCI AI Services: Vision, Language, Speech, Anomaly Detection, and Forecasting — and how they integrate with Oracle Fusion. The Oracle AI for Finance accelerator: what it adds, how it is licensed, and what configuration is required. Oracle Digital Assistant: the conversational AI interface for Fusion. What the Digital Assistant can do today — answering questions about Fusion data, creating transactions, approving workflow items, querying reports by voice or text. Configuration required to enable ODA, skills available out of the box, and how to customise responses. Honest assessment of Oracle Fusion Copilot: what is generally available, what is in preview, and how to advise a client asking whether Oracle AI is ready for operational reliance. Topics: OCI AI Services overview; Oracle AI for Finance accelerator; Oracle Digital Assistant architecture; Available ODA skills for Fusion; ODA configuration and customisation; Oracle Fusion Copilot: current state and roadmap Delivery Cross-audience — works for a group of consultants, a mixed group of IT managers and finance leaders, or an executive team. Tone and depth can be adjusted based on audience. Note: Oracle AI features evolve rapidly — course content is reviewed and updated quarterly. Available virtually or on-site.
